The suit of wands represents the element of fire and relates to action, risk and adventure. It is associated with the astrological signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius and originally represented the working classes. The meanings tend to revolve around new projects, ventures or travel.

A wands person is generally motivated and full of energy. They have lots of ideas and find it difficult to stay still for too long. For wands the journey is more important than the destination.

Wands is considered a masculine suit and lends weight to the physical. This suit is diametrically opposed to Pentacles which lends weight to the practical.
